Hadoop and its Ecosystem Components in Action

It’s one thing to have a high-level understanding of Big Data, Hadoop and MapReduce; it’s quite another to feel comfortable working with the tools. In this demo-heavy session with VSLive Co-Chair and ZDNet Big Data blogger Andrew Brust, we’ll take a look at actual MapReduce code and see Hadoop ecosystem components HBase, Hive, Pig and Mahout in action.

Presenter: Andrew Brust

Andrew Brust is Founder and CEO of Blue Badge Insights, an analysis, strategy and advisory firm serving Microsoft customers and partners, and ZDNet’s “Big on Data” blogger.http://www.zdnet.com/blog/big-data Brust is also a Microsoft Regional Director and MVP; an advisor to the New York Technology Council; and co-author of “Programming Microsoft SQL Server 2008″ (Microsoft Press, 2008).
